Activity of selected antioxidants in micellar systems.

In the presentation the results of our studies concerning the antioxidative action of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and vitamin E (α-tocopherol) in the micellar solutions and the SDS/pentanol/water microemulsions are discussed. It was found that the first one is more active in the systems rich in water whereas the second one in the system rich in oil. From the atmospheric oxidation studies of a mixture of these vitamins it follows that they act synergistically.
