Thermodynamic quantity changes at the transition from CBF to NBF of thin liquid film stabilized by cationic surfactant.

Japan / Япония

The aqueous thin films (foam and emulsion films) stabilized by the cationic surfactant of tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide with added salt of NaBr have been investigated by measuring the film tension changes of common black film (CBF) and Newton black film (NBF). As the result, we have concluded that the transition from CBF to NBF brings about the change not only in the thickness of the film but also in the interfacial structure at the film interfaces.
