Elastic deformation of a soft poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) surface by a sessile ionic liquid droplet studied by laser scanning confocal microscopy.
Germany / Германия
We study the deformation in-situ of a soft PDMS surface by the action of an ionic liquid microdrop by means of simultaneous fluorescence and reflection laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM). It is demonstrated the presence of strain in the micrometer range. The experimental profiles of the deformed surface result to fit well with the ones calculated with the available theoretical studies for surface elastic moduli of 20–350 kPa.
