Conformation of isolated end-tethered polymer chains represented by modified self-avoiding walk models.

Poland / Польша

The Monte Carlo method has been applied to study the conformation of isolated polymer chains terminally attached to the planar surface. The random walk and self-avoiding walk lattice models and their modifications have been employed to simulate a polymer chain. The influence of excluded volume effect due to polymer segments and to the presence of impenetrable surface on the polymer conformation and its conformational entropy has been studied.
